Its funny how those that I called trash talk the ceramic saunas and carbon sauna companies trash talk to rods. I wish it would stop. Its not nice. I personally wouldn't buy from a company that said bad things about another company.

The ceramics have their own pros and cons. They are known for their just putting out a Lot of infrared but its not a long wavelength like the carbon but the carbon makes a super long wavelength but its just that it doesn't make that much. For those just trying to sweat more rods can be great but for detox where you want the infrared rays to go deep into the body, its a different story.

Note: I get asked this a lot about why some heaters go all the way up to the top of the sauna and some stop at the head. If someone wants a warmer sauna without using rods, having more heaters can heat up the sauna raising the temperature higher but the body might not be absorbing the far infrared when the heaters are that high over the head.

Also the ceramic heaters, although they penetrate deeper in to the body, don't have as much surface area, which the body feels cooler in one area and warm in another.

The ceramics are good but the are more pulsed type. The carbon has a more constant heat. The ceramic has to turn up high then shut off to let the sauna cool down again. Many people don't like the 50% on 50% off or whatever the percentage is the heater is off. The sauna is heated but there is no far infrared coming out until the temperature in the sauna cools down to start it up again. There are some higher end rod heaters that have more of the on time than the off time. These will usually be more costly.

Note: the ceramic plates are not the same as the rods. The rods are the 2nd best as far as fluence and far infrared output. The ceramic plates if they have low wattage going into them can generate the most far infrared output. The Therasauna has ceramic plates. You can set the room at 80 degrees and they will stay to keep the room at 80 degrees the entire time, unlike the rods that get super hot and then shut off and on. I prefer the ceramic heaters that stay on the entire time, instead of clicking on and off

So, I do carry the rod heaters such as the Healthmate Sauna. This is my most popular weightless sauna and delivers the highest near and mid infrared. The ceramic plate Therasauna is my best selling sauna. The ceramic plates turn orange from yellow and they give a broad ray. The Saunacore heaters have a more concentrated narrower range but their saunas have 11 to 13 heaters so it doesn't have any cold spots.
